Tokyo city tour
Then went to Nippori in Tokyo for a more in-depth exploration of popular tourist spots.
Tokyo and Atami are very different. Atami is much more traditional; people walk on the left. Tokyo is much more international and inclusive. In Tokyo, you can basically live in English, but in Atami, you need Google Translate.
Sakura Hotel
The Sakura Hotel was a simple hostel-like place, very conveniently located. There was a great eel rice restaurant next door, which was authentic and reasonably priced.
culture shock
We spent two days with our daughter in Akihabara, the anime and manga mecca, eating sushi and eel rice.
Museum
I had planned to hit Disneyland, but I was just too beat to go.
