TOKYO

second time been in Kanto

This year, I stayed at a guesthouse near the Azuma-bashi Bridge for 9 days. It was a small tatami room on the second floor, accessed via a narrow staircase. The staircase corner was very small, and the street was quiet, with not many tourists dragging suitcases.

BAKERY

There is a bakery passing by the Azuma bashi subway station. When the queue is long, there are more than twenty people waiting, and my daughter liked it very much. We nearly visit the bakery every day for breakfast, What I wasn’t used to at first was that after shopping, I had to go back to my accommodation to eat before taking the tram out to play.

面包店

This bakery also has a branch in Ginza. To be able to open a store in such a prime location, it must have some truly unique and special skills; no wonder there are so many people queuing up. Surprisingly, this store accepts WeChat Pay.

MESEUM

When visiting the Hayao Miyazaki Museum, I saw Miyazaki’s studio, manuscripts, hand-drawn illustrations, color separation, animation production techniques, and photos of the prototype of the bathhouse in “Spirited Away”. I found that Japanese animators’ creations are still very realistic, and they are better at discovering and refining beauty from real scenes. The tickets for the museum were hard to get, so I didn’t manage to get them at the original price. I bought three tickets at a high price on Ctrip, and then a Chinese person gave us the tickets at the subway station and even helped us get on the bus. And the bar at exit provided very decious food.

FOOD

There is an eel rice restaurant that is quite expensive, with a dish costing over 4,000 yen. The queue is quite long. The restaurant is adorned with many old photos, depicting the grand scene of the Asakusa Festival, which exudes a strong sense of the past. It is run by two elderly ladies who only open for lunch. The price is a bit steep, but upon further reflection, I realized that eel rice is considered a relatively high-end dish in Japan, and it’s sufficient to have it two or three times a year as a special meal.

拉面
I tried a Wagyu Lamian Noodles restaurant near Asakusa, which had a good rating on Google Maps, but I found it quite ordinary. The restaurant also brushes up reviews, offering desserts to customers who leave positive reviews. It feels like they’ve been corrupted by others.
